Post Redaction Post

*POP*

Well that was interesting. Have you ever thought about how the trees must look when you skip to different parts of the year in a moment. The leaves start turning color earlier in the year that I thought. And all the landscaping people do in the summer is striking when popping in from another time.

If you had been watching this space for blog posts, I apologize for the absence of content. There was a unfortunately complicated turn of events that resulted from someone doing too much work in time travel after reading some of the handbook. So I decided it was better to go back and prevent those articles from being published. Thankfully, there was little other effect on the timeline, so I don't have to learn new peoples names, or deal with tricky financial issues due to the historical rewrite.

I have decided this is a great teaching opportunity. There are two major areas where your average time traveler has to be careful and very detail oriented. If a traveller wants to enjoy all the fun time travel, then they need to pay close attention to interpersonal relationships and finances. If you neglect giving these the attention they need, you can cause all kinds of causality issues, but more importantly you might get audited.

You see, both of these deal with long interconnected transactions recorded over time, and people pay them a LOT of attention when things don't seem right. You should also avoid AI's during their bootstrap phase, but we can go into that later when it starts to become more frequent in this timeline.

With relationships you need to be careful that you don't miss too much information about someone. Movies make a joke of the time traveller figuring out who these people are and faking through conversations, but it is VERY hard to do that, day in and day out after a major personal rewrite. Secrets are shared with friends and enemies. Personal histories can get mangeled even if you don't personally edit them. BTW, tools like Foursquare and can be priceless when you need to refresh your memory of where and when you have been places.

Finances are even tougher. Records are kept of most purchases even with cash withdrawals, and if you do too much with large amounts of cash, suspicion can be thrown your way of all kinds of possible illegal activity. Now there are excellent opportunities for cash duplication and temporal laundering, but that puts you on the radar for the Secret Service. Bet you didn't know the Secret Services actual secret was they manage time travel complications. I'll tell you more about that later, but why else would a government agency combine protecting the money supply, foreign dignitaries, and the President? It is an odd combo isn't it.

Anyway I will be putting out a few more of these and popping back and forth to make sure the posts don't cause as much trouble this go around. I know the travel technique posts got a lot of attention before, but I may have to hold off on that until things calm down a bit in the midwest.
